Recently, drupa and AIPIA (Active and Intelligent Packaging Industry Association) started a marketing agreement. Eef de Ferrante, AIPIA director, is convinced that the newly formed partnership is a win-win situation for both parties.
AIPIA is essential for packaging professionals when it comes to augmented reality (ar), blockchain or sensor technology in packaging. At drupa 2020, AIPIA will play a major role in presenting innovative ideas and developments regarding active and intelligent packaging, thanks to the partnership with the exhibition.
Printing techniques
At the international event, the association will host a Members’ Village as well as organizing demonstrations en presentations about Active & Intelligent Packaging (A&IP) technologies and how these relate to the printing sector. Many A&IP components are produced by advanced printing techniques such as for instance vacuum deposition, holographics, embedded security coding, micro printing. Printed electronics is also an important component, and adds a new dimension to the event. Thus AIPIA.
Theme
‘Better printing helps us to improve the quality of the packaging and, at the same time, enables us to offer value added items such as anti-counterfeit, security and consumer engagement features’, says De Ferrante. ‘Brands, particularly big brands, are waking up to the fact that they need to engage with their customers in new ways. Packaging can become one of their most powerful marketing tools. This theme will be highlighted during drupa 2020.’
