T-Systems, het Instituut Fraunhofer for Material flow and Logistics (IML) en de European Pallet Association (EPAL) hebben de eerste 500 intelligente pallets geïntroduceerd tijdens de Internationale Supply Chain conferentie in Berlijn (17-19 oktober).
De 500 intelligente pallets zijn voorzien van een zogeheten low-cost tracker die zijn eigen positie achterhaalt en transportbewegingen plus temperatuurwisselingen volgt. Naast de locatie detecteert de waterdichte sensor schokken, hellingen, versnellingskrachten en de temperatuur van elke pallet. De opleggers rapporteren zelf hun status van bijvoorbeeld afwijkingen op het vlak van onverwachte schud- of temperatuurfluctuaties. Updates worden automatisch doorgegeven aan een specifiek portal.
T-Systems, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material flow and Logistics (IML) and the European Pallet Association (EPAL) have introduced the first 500 intelligent pallets during the International Suply Chain conference in Berlin (17-19 October).
The 500 intelligent pallets have a so-called low-cost tracker that retrieves its own position and follows transport movements plus temperature changes. Besides the location, the waterproof sensor detects shocks, ramps, acceleration forces and the temperature of each pallet. The trailers itself report the status of for instance deviations in terms of unexpected shake or temperature fluctuations. Updates are automatically passed to a specific portal.
