Smurfit Kappa ontwikkelt een nieuwe reeks multifunctionele papierkwaliteiten die geschikt zijn voor zowel digitale als flexodruk printers.
Eén van de eigenschappen van het nieuwe papier waar momenteel aan wordt gewerkt, is dat het geschikt zal zijn voor digitaal printen op zowel UV- als waterbasis en dat het tegelijkertijd compatibel is met traditionele flexodruk printers.
‘Dit nieuwe papierassortiment heeft zeer goed gepresteerd tijdens tests in ons bèta programma en ziet er veelbelovend uit. Dit wordt weer een stap voorwaarts op onze reis naar de digitalisatie van de op papier gebaseerde verpakkingsindustrie’, stelt Lars Henriksson, VP Product Development van de Smurfit Kappa Paper Division.
Lancering
De lancering van het nieuwe papier staat voor later dit jaar gepland.
Smurfit Kappa is developing a new range of multifunctional paper grades which are suitable for both digital and flexographic printers.
One of the properties of the new paper currently being worked on, is that it will be suitable for digital printing on both UV and water-based and is at the same time compatible with traditional flexographic printers.
‘This new paper range has performed very well during tests in our beta program and looks promising. This will be a step forward on our journey to the digitization of the paper-based packaging industry’, says Lars Henriksson, VP Product Development of the Smurfit Kappa Paper Division.
Launch
The launch of the paper is planned for later this year.
